Experts of AtomEco 2013 International Forum Will Discuss Tasks and Problems in Administering Radioactive Waste Management Projects

AtomEco'2013, 7th International Forum, will include a round-table discussion entitled "Administering Radioactive Waste Management Projects: Regional, Sectoral, National and Global Aspects."

The participants will pay special attention to discussing the unified state system of managing radioactive waste as an infrastructural element of the national system of management of nuclear energy enterprises. Representatives of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM will discuss the problems and issues in forming the system of managing radioactive waste. The discussion will cover the issues of safety and economic efficiency of international cooperation in radioactive waste management and the experience of radioactive waste management in other countries.

The round-table discussion will be attended by representatives of Russian and foreign organizations, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation and the Russian Technical Monitoring Authority.

The topic of this round-table discussion will become a central theme at the AtomEco'2013, 7th International Forum, because "a zero damage strategy" can only be implemented if we understand how the waste is formed, how its volume can be effectively optimized, and how radioactive waste can be managed safely and effectively.
